Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

"Prescribed burn" or "controlled burn" is what the park rangers call it when thick old brushy growth is deliberately burned in an effort to open up the forest, promote new growth, and reduce undergrowth in an attempt to eliminate out-of-control fires from starting and spreading accidentally. Only trouble is, the last time they did this, the fire got out of control and burned many more acres than had been planned. See my photo "The Night They Burned the Mountain" for what happened next.
